Faith in Action Bay Area is a network of congregations and community leaders working to ensure that the dignity of all people in our community is upheld. With a vision of a world in which all people receive respect, justice and the opportunity they each deserve, Faith in Action Bay Area strives to provide leadership development and civic engagement, where faith values are lifted up in order to confront power and change systems. This spiritually oriented society aids with parish families who find themselves in need of support. The Society depends upon the generous contributions of goods and money from our parish family to carry out its important Christian mission.
In cooperation with the Second Harvest Food Bank, parish volunteers sort and bag food weekly to provide food supplies to local qualifying residents in need of assistance.
Parishioners of St. Peter Parish support the Pacifica Resource Center with an annual food collection effort to help stock the pantry that serves indigent families in our community.
Students in the Confirmation program annually host a baby shower to gather clothing, diapers and other essential items for infants residing at the Epiphany Center. The Epiphany Center serves the most marginalized children and families in San Francisco with holistic care.
Each year at Christmas the parish supports various organizations that serve the needs of challenged individuals in the broader community. Necessities have been identified by the organizations and wish lists shared with parishioners. The following organizations receive donations through the generosity of our parishioners.
